Refunds:
~ Once the pup is paid for & picked up, the sale is final, no returns or refunds after that point. Once the dog or pup is in your care all bills from Veterinarian (vaccines, de-worming etc...) are your responsibility to pay. It is an accurate calculation and common knowledge that the owner will likely out-live the life of a their dog. Any and all medications, euthanasia, (putting the dog down) at any point in his or her life is at the new owners (your) responsibility. It will be your responsibility to pay for the necessities of life in caring for your dog. If you are not prepared to pay for this type of responsibility please, for your sake and any pet, do not adopt or purchase at all. As mentioned (in the Navigation Menu, "Available Puppies") I can give no guarantee on the health of the dog or pup once it is in your care. All the risks, dangers or health conditions associated with this breed are the buyer's responsibility to research prior to pick-up. I am not liable for common "problems" associated with this breed. Please note that an outside (farm/acreage) dog will need a full trim/shave every 6 -12 months. Please account for these costs.
~If the puppy dies or is seriously injured while in our care, you will be reimbursed for the amount you paid for, in full. You will have the option of choosing another pup if available. You may also be given the option and top priority/pick in the next litter if decided. Color and sex must be determined and decided by you, at my discretion and based on current demand/top priority; reservations of upcoming pups.
Vaccinations & Microchip: are only an aid in greatly lowering the risks of the disease listed on the label. In the remote case that the puppy dies or becomes ill due to a disease which the puppy has already been vaccinated for, there will be no refund; as vaccinations are not a guarantee. Puppies will be vaccinated, de-wormed. They acquire a microchip at your request, only.
Flight Expenses/Delivery: Air fair is the buyers expense. All risks and losses are at the expense of you, the new owner once the pup is signed over and in the care of the Flight Agency and their handlers. (ie: WestJet...) Flight arrangements and costs are your responsibility. I am happy to purchase the flight kennel and puppy to your flight in Edmonton . More details found on CONNECT-Contact-Disclaimer page.
I am happy to assist in transporting or delivery, but at an extra cost/fee and is dependant on my own personal preference and circumstances. I will try to accommodate as much as possible but not at the expense of my family or health.
Picking your pup’s color and markings:
One of the many joy's of owning an American Cocker Spaniel is their intelligence and beautiful silky coats, From medium to small size and unique colors! However please, be aware that coat colors may change, fade in one spot or get stronger in another over time. I have no control over the final look of the puppy as an adult. This is all apart of the surprise; much like our growing children.
Thus there is no refund for any and all color changes that may occur during the life of your dog. (eyes or coat)
Helpful Tip: Please note that in my experience every breeder seems to have different vocabulary to describe or label their breeds coat color and markings. (For example, I prefer to use the word, "freckles" when by CKC definition they are called, "ticking". This is not a flattering or encouraging word, in my mind. ;)
Holding Fees, Adjustments & Costs and "My List": (see Contact for Prices*)
~A $10/day boarding fee applies to pups that are held after 8 weeks of age. (unless under special circumstances I, the Seller wave that fee) There is never a boarding fee applied to hold a puppy for the first 8 weeks.
~To add your name for free to "My List" for any upcoming litters, please TEXT your Name, Location, preferred colors and gender to, See "CONTACT PAGE" (Note: Buyer Priority will go to the 'paid depositor' not the "My List" prospect. You will be contacted when puppies are 2 weeks of age. If I do not hear a response from you within 24 hours; at my discretion, your name will be removed from 'My List'. (This does not include "paid depositors")
~A holding fee for more serious buyers are to e-transfer their deposit of $200-500 which holds your pup as a commitment agreement that I, the Seller, will not sell the pup to anyone else; thus, He or She is designated for you! This deposit is apart of your total cost and is not extra.
~At 8 weeks of age the buyer has until midnight (unless discussed and arranged further) for pick up. If the discussed pick time is not honoured or timely notice is given, I the seller will sell the pup to someone else and reserve the right to hold the deposit. Though many breeders decide to keep the full* purchase price for this inconvenience, I kindly, do not:) I know life is busy and rough at times. All I ask is that you respect my time. Once the pups are 5 weeks old, we start to arrange dates of pick up and payment. NO pup will be sold to anyone who intends to consume the dog-that is illegal in Canada. A designated date will be posted to which I will make one FREE trip to Edmonton to deliver pups.
~In the rare case that there is a price adjustment for a pup. (discount) that price adjustment will automatically correspond with the above mentioned disclosures. Prices are subject to change.
~I will confirm arrangements with an outgoing text to you as per our discussion so there is no confusion. Communication is very important to me so I do my best to keep details and records .
Making a Visit or Pick up: If you hope to bring other dogs or other animals on the day of pick up or a visit, please choose rather to keep them at home if possible. If this is not possible we ask that your animals stay in your vehicle at all times-this includes potty time off our yard. If the weather conditions inhibit this you should make make other arrangements. It is our practice to protect the other animals at our home. Puppies have a weaker immune system while young and we aim to avoid unnecessary animal or human contact while they are in a vulnerable state. Exposure may increase the risk of disease, virus or bacterial infections and we hope to avoid that. We would ask that you come with clean clothes and wash your hands before handling pups. Please avoid puppy contact with your face. (kissing pups) You can kiss and cuddle once he or she is yours :)
Tail Docking Origin for Cocker Spaniels. The breed was derived for bird game hunting. This is how they received the name, "Wood-cock." It was then apparently noted that their tails would brake on trees during the hunt. However, the AKC adopted this technique as a way to show their dogs were of pure blood. The procedure was for appearance, and a static symbol-nothing more.
New List of Banned Veterinary Procedures in Alberta (April 2019)
"Alberta veterinarians have voted to ban medically unnecessary surgical procedures and to require vets and their staff to report animal abuse and neglect. The decision was made Sunday in Calgary, where members of the Alberta Veterinary Medical Association (ABVMA) voted in favour of two resolutions they say will have a significant impact on animal welfare in the province. Nearly 300 members voted on the resolutions, which passed by 98 per cent."

Registered and Pure Blood American Cocker Spaniels: My Sire and Dam are not registered because I do not feel it necessary for extra paper-work only on the basis of showing or competing; thus costing you more for a pup. If your desire is show or competitions it is in your best interest to contact a Registered Show Breeder. I do not plan to "show" my dogs publicly, as they are strictly my pets/family, and not on display in a professional manner. I am not making any claims or accusations against showing dogs, it just isn't my desire. You are though in fact, purchasing a pup or dog from excellent blood lines! If it matters to you....Chai-Shalom's Mother is a Registered American Cocker Spaniel." (AKC) as well as Havanah's.
